| Pam Talley, Illustrator Pam Talley is a native Floridian, raised in Southwest Florida. She is a breast cancer survivor since 2001. She now lives in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband Steve, daughter Taryn, Sam, a yellow lab and Slater a black lab and a cat named Henri, after Matisse. You can see more of her work at Fineartamerica.com and on Facebook. She has shown her work in Tallahassee, Apalachicola and Seaside, Florida. She is represented in Tallahassee by Signature Gallery. She became a serious artist in high school when her art teacher took an interest in her ability and gave her extra time in class to paint. She went on to study graphic art and worked as a staff artist on several publications. Pam also worked as a freelance artist. Later on, she and her husband bought a small art studio, the Brush and Palette Studio, where she taught art for 17 years. After breast cancer came into the picture, she sold the studio but continued to teach and is now working on developing new ways of expressing herself through painting. Her latest effort is a series of paintings titled Gulf Life. Pam loves finding a simple subject, throwing some light at it and turning it into something rich and beautiful, creating an image more exciting than any camera could capture. She wants to show the beauty that great light, color and texture can bring to everyday subjects with fresh impressionistic brush and knife work. It can be as simple as a still life or as complicated as a landscape. Art has always been an important part of her life. She has drawn and painted as long as she can remember. |
